God & His Word

Learning to recognize and respond to the voice of God

"After the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice."

1 Kings 19:12 (NKJV)

How Does God Speak?

One of the most transformative discoveries a believer can make is that God is not silent — He is speaking. The question is whether we have learned to listen. Throughout Scripture, God communicates with His people in a variety of ways: through His written Word, through prayer, through circumstances, through dreams and visions, and through the still small voice that Elijah encountered at the mouth of the cave.

The Holy Spirit, who lives within every born-again believer, is our Teacher, our Comforter, and our Guide. Jesus said, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me" (John 10:27). Hearing God's voice is not reserved for a spiritual elite — it is the birthright of every child of God.

"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."

John 16:13 (NKJV)

Revelation Knowledge

There is a difference between intellectual knowledge of Scripture and revelation knowledge — truth that the Holy Spirit makes alive and personal to your spirit. The Apostle Paul prayed that the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened (Ephesians 1:18). This is revelation knowledge: when a scripture you have read many times suddenly leaps off the page and becomes a living word for your situation.

Revelation knowledge transforms us. It moves truth from our heads to our hearts, where it produces faith, changes behavior, and brings supernatural results.
